This post has a lot of important things in it. There will be a tl;dr list at the end of the post if you don't want to read it all.
First off, I'm going to talk about Sage for a while. I'm postponing it, changing several things, ad probably won't pick up actual work on it until next year. The first thing I'm changing is the genre. Instead of an rpg, I'm switching it to a point-and-click game using the AGS game engine. It seems pretty easy to learn, and based on the plot-centric nature of Sage it's the best thing for me to use I think. I can have better art and less (if any at all) sprites, which will be a very happy thing for me.

Girl Picking Flowers // NPC Sprite Progress Post
Well, after playing a considerable amount of the Ice Cream Machine game on Neopets.com, I decided to get to work making some sprites this morning. I guess I'll just be documenting my progress and comments in this blog entry. To the left we have a beginning outline/sketch of a certain NPC that I like a lot, and I call her Girl Picking Flowers, also known as "gpf". She has a little speech about whether or not someone loves her. Then she says, "If this love is hopeless, I can still be their friend, right?" In this picture, I'm using FireAlpaca (a free art program) to create gpf's sprite on a 64 by 64 pixel canvas, using the binary tool so I can draw lines of one-pixel width. I'm going back and erasing excess pixels to make gpf's outlines look nice and crisp. By the end of that, her sprite looks like the image underneath the text:

I am the Boss Here // Introduction Post
Okay, here you have it: the official introduction post. I'm Lucie, aka Fishcat, and I'm the one writing this. I am the original Fairytale Prisoner and am still the one doing the real work in this group. If you refer to FP as a singular person, you would be referring to me. Basically, I'm a control freak who wants to stay the boss because everyone else in this group does a lot less work in here then I do, and they're mostly for self-validation and beta testing purposes.
This blog is a development blog, and therefore will be where I post most of the progress on my games. I will post sprites, screenshots, error logs, and other things of minor importance here... And when the time comes, I will post something of major importance. The final post and download of the game. That final post may be, however, accompanied by a sob-filled rant about the journey of making the game, my kiss scene headcanons that never made their way into Sage, et cetera.
